The owners of this attractive period property, which is located in a conservation area, commissioned a living extension which needed to have a traditional exterior befitting their existing property.

The extension, which houses a new kitchen area, was designed to complement the property and required handmade bricks to match.

Soft Red handmade bricks in an imperial size were chosen for their soft texture with subtle colour variations, offering the most appropriate match. The bricks were laid in a traditional English bond with lime mortar, and the special camber arches and cant window details were expertly cut and shaped on site.
