Linear Handmade bricks selected for award-winning Hallé St Peter’s development

Imperial Bricks’ new Linear Handmade bricks have been chosen for the extension of Hallé Orchestra’s home in Ancoats, Manchester.

Following a global design competition, Stephenson Studio delivered the award-winning design for the second phase of the project to transform the Grade II listed former St. Peter’s Church into a magnificent rehearsal, performance and education facility.

A new three-storey extension will provide a brand new contemporary façade to the building, with the redevelopment set for completion in autumn 2019.

Manufactured using traditional methods, the Linear Handmade bricks selected for this project have been supplied in a ‘Regal Blend’, created with a specific brief to match the clay colour of the listed church and surrounding historic buildings. This blend features a special combination of multi and weathered bricks with natural shade variations of red to orange.

A wide range of matching bespoke special shapes have also been manufactured to realise the striking angular design.

The complete Linear Handmade range will soon be launched into our extensive product portfolio.
