About

History

The foundations of Imperial Bricks were laid over 10 years ago by the Managing Director, Jason Hughes and the Sales Director, Ricky Doody.

We started by visiting large demolition sites nationwide to acquire reclaimed materials such as bricks and roofing tiles to sell through the Reclamation yard. Due to the increasing demand for regional varieties for restoration and renovation projects as well as conservation of period properties, we started to look at how to make bricks using traditional manufacturing methods.

It was not possible to find the clay types in the UK to bring about the colour variations so we went overseas to source manufacturing partners that could ethically manufacture a range of handmade bricks in Imperial sizes.

In 1965 with modern builds the brick sizes were unified to a metric size of 65mm to enable a faster build so we also started manufacturing these to provide a more rounded offering.

Now

Imperial is today one of the UK’s leading suppliers of the finest handmade, wirecut and pressed bricks specialising in regional variations.

Over time we have worked extensively with our partners and developed reclaimed and weathered finishes to blend with bricks that had been on buildings for over 150 years.

With our own brick processing on site and Reclamation yard, Rennew, here in Bridgnorth we have developed a nationwide offering with bespoke blends and different brick mixes to give the desired weathered appearance.

Supplying to Builders merchants, developers, architects and self builders.
