    Upnor Castle is an Elizabethan artillery fort built between 1559 and 1567, commissioned by Queen Elizabeth I to protect warships at Chatham’s historic dockyards. The castle and associated Grade I* listed buildings are surrounded by boundary walls featuring a mixture of stone curtain walling and bricks.     The client wanted to recreate the appearance of an established urban industrial building with a weathered appearance for this new restaurant in Bahrain. To achieve the desired finish, Imperial Bricks were approached to supply 50,000 Urban Weathered brick slips consisting of a mixture of headers, stretchers and pistols, which were applied externally and internally in a unique bond to create a metropolitan look.
